Revision Eyewear Celebrates Year of Exceptional Growth with 2009 Open House

18 August 2009

Essex Junction, VT, US – Revision Eyewear, leading developer of ballistic protective eyewear for military and law enforcement forces worldwide, celebrates exponential growth and facility expansion with its Fourth Annual Open House. Taking place on 27 August 2009, at Revision's Essex Junction Headquarters, opening ceremonies begin at 2pm with welcoming remarks from guests of honor Vermont Governor Jim Douglas, MG Michael D Dubie, adjutant general of the state of Vermont, and retired 12th Sergeant Major of the Army Jack L Tilley.

A tour of the expanded facilities follows, where guests will see the manufacturing area and testing laboratories in operation. Refreshments will be provided following tours of the facilities, with festivities ending at 6pm.

Revision moved to the state of Vermont in September 2004 and quickly outgrew its original Williston location. In August 2006, Revision relocated to its current Essex Junction Headquarters and has since expanded the size of its facility twice. Originally occupying 28,500ft², Revision’s operational and manufacturing hub now inhabits over 52,000ft² of space. Within that, Revision houses the most technically advanced equipment in the industry, with molding and coating machines capable of producing millions of lenses annually, as well as research, materials and quality control testing laboratories, all staffed by technical experts.

Despite the current economy, Revision’s positive and impressive growth has resulted in over 50 new jobs since last August, a 50% workforce increase over the previous year.

"When Revision stated its mission to become the world's leading supplier of ballistic protective eyewear, we invested $10 million into new facilities, equipment and people," said Jonathan Blanshay, CEO of Revision Eyewear. "Since then the company has experienced tremendous growth, achieving a leading market share position in protective eyewear sales to the US military, all of which is proudly 100% made in the USA. With our expanding market, Revision's staffing requirements have increased dramatically. This year, Revision celebrates that growth as well as the physical expansion and increased capabilities of our Vermont facility."
