Revision Eyewear Unveils New Manufacturing Facility

Revision Eyewear, the leading ballistic eyewear provider for military, law enforcement and tactical customers worldwide, hosted an open house on Thursday, August 28, 2008, to unveil its new multimillion dollar manufacturing facilities.
The new plant and equipment provide Revision with state-of-the-art injection molding and coating capabilities for lens manufacturing. Revision’s $6 million investment will allow the company to design, produce, and bring to market the highest quality ballistic eyewear. It will also enable them to deliver products faster, with improved technology and provide customers with greater customization.
The opening ceremonies started at 2:00pm with welcoming speeches by Vermont Governor Jim Douglas, Major General Michael Dubie, Brigadier General Steven Cray, and Revision CEO, Jonathan Blanshay. Governor Douglas opened the ceremonies by congratulating Mr. Blanshay and the Revision team for their continued investment into the company and its Vermont employees. General Dubie and General Cray shared kind words on behalf of the Vermont National Guard, thanking the Blanshay family and Revision for their generous support of the Vermont National Guard Fallen Heroes Memorial.

Approximately 150 guests toured the new environmentally controlled clean room that houses Revision’s lens molding and coating equipment. Guests saw a demonstration of the molding process which begins with the automated delivery of resin into state-of-the-art injection molding machines. Through an advanced series of robotics, visitors watched as the fully automated system removed parts from the injection molding machines and handled them through the inspection process.
Revision technicians also demonstrated company expertise in the state-of-the-art ballistic and optical testing laboratory. The equipment, which represents well over $1 million in capital investment, is used for rigid quality assurance testing. It ensures that Revision’s products consistently exceed the ballistic, optical and performance standards required by military customers. This same equipment is also used for new product development and research into new materials and coatings.
