21 August 2008

Revision Eyewear, designs, develops and delivers mission critical eyewear for military, law enforcement and tactical clients worldwide and is proud to host an open house at their new manufacturing facility on Thursday August 28, 2008.

Revision has been producing its best-in-class purpose-built eye protection in Vermont since 2004 and moved to the current 45,500ft². location in Essex Junction last year as part of the Company’s $6 million investment in plant and equipment to meet growing demand for its products around the world.

The opening ceremony starts at 2:00pm with welcoming speeches officiated by Vermont Governor Jim Douglas, Major General Michael Dubie, Brigadier General Steven Cray, and Revision CEO, Jonathan Blanshay. Tours of the facility to see the new equipment in operation will be provided, with light refreshments and appetizers served throughout the afternoon until closing at 6:00pm.

“At Revision, we are very proud of the investment we have made in our Vermont facility as well as in our employees,” Revision’s CEO Jonathan Blanshay commented. “Revision stands to become the premier lens manufacturing facility in North America by combining the most technically advanced molding and coating equipment available today. We will continue our Vermont-based growth trajectory by anticipating and acquiring the science, technology and equipment and incorporating the newest innovations in materials into our product lines, in order to meet the many diverse and complex needs of our customers. Our mission has always been, and will continue to be, to protect the troops by delivering the best purpose-built military eye protection solutions on the market today.”

The unveiling will include review of the environmentally controlled production clean room that houses the molding and lens coating equipment. The tour will also include a demonstration of the molding process which begins with the automated delivery of resin to the state-of-the-art injection molding machines.

Revision will also demonstrate its advanced series of robotics chosen to work in close synchronization with its injection molding machines. The robots will automatically remove parts from the injection molding machines and handle them through the inspection process.

The tour will also highlight Revision’s customized, cutting edge coating line. This fully automated, versatile line applies anti-scratch, anti-fog as well as other high performance coatings to Revision’s lenses by both dip or flow-coating methodologies. This will provide Revision with unparalleled capability to apply the perfect combination of coatings for any given application.

At the open house Revision technicians will demonstrate the capabilities of their state-of-the-art equipped ballistic and optical testing laboratory. This equipment, which represents over $1 million in capital investment, is used for rigid quality assurance testing ensuring that Revision’s products consistently exceed the ballistic, optical and quality standards required by military customers, as well as for product development and research on new designs, materials and coatings.

Revision continues to lead the market in ballistic eye protection for military, law enforcement and tactical clients worldwide by investing in the company’s future with sophisticated equipment and employing highly skilled and talented employees.
