14 September 2005 10:34

Livermore, Ca. (August 26, 2005) - Wiley X Eyewear, the preferred eyewear of the U.S. Armed Forces, has developed two premier assault gloves for Military and Law Enforcement agencies.

Wiley X has been supplying the United States finest fighting forces for over 19 years. We have worked closely with military and federal law enforcement designing ballistic goggles and spectacles for all types of operations conducted. Wiley X has devoted a specific department to the development and creation of new and innovative designs based on feedback from soldiers and officers in the field. HVP™ - High Velocity Protection, is the theory behind the Wiley X designs. These modular systems combine several protecting functions in one. Wiley X prides itself on designing modular protection that can be worn for multiple applications whether its general safety or close quarters combat.

THE COMBAT ASSAULT GLOVE (CAG-1)

Due to the ever changing combat environment and the needs of armed forces worldwide, Wiley X has developed the Combat Assault Glove (CAG-1) and the Tactical Assault Glove (TAG-1). The CAG-1 provides superior hand and palm protection without compromising control and finger dexterity. The CAG-1 features the highest quality fabrics and is considered the pinnacle of all-purpose protection gloves. Since Wiley X is synonymous with protection and style, we incorporated those traits into our gloves.

Some of the unique traits of the CAG-1 are the incorporation of a custom molded Thermal Plastic knuckle guard and Thermal Plastic plates on the individual fingers. The Thermal Plastic provides Maximum protection that is unsurpassed in the industry. Because the glove uses Chamude on the palm and fingers, this allows the utmost finger and hand dexterity and durability not found using conventional leather. Incorporated into the Chamude is a Silicon Print for increased grip in strategic areas. On the top of the thumb is a micro fleece section used to wipe sweat from your face. The cuff is made of a neoprene fabric with a Velcro strap for a custom fit. The CAG-1 breathes exceptionally well given its use as a protective all purpose glove. It incorporates Air Mesh on the back of the hand, and one-way Lycra in the fingers.

THE TACTICAL ASSAULT GLOVE (TAG-1)

The TAG-1 is the Cadillac of Protective Gauntlet Gloves. Using the same "protection first" philosophy that has made us so well known, we have stopped at no expense with this glove. Its main fabric is made using a Nomex / Kevlar weave, which allows the glove to be both thermal resistant and cut resistant. Featuring the same Thermal Plastic knuckle guard used in the CAG-1, this glove provides the utmost hand protection in the industry. The palm is made using Sheepskin leather with Armortan, which allows for palm protection without compromise in finger and palm dexterity. There is an extra leather patch on the palm and thumb for increased durability in high wear areas.

The TAG-1 has extended forearm protection that incorporates an elastic cuff which wraps around the wrist for a custom fit. Depending on the job at hand, and level of hand protection needed, Wiley X has the solution, the CAG-1 and the TAG-1.
