Potomac Field Gear - Fire Resistant Clothing

Potomac Field Gear is dedicated to supplying advanced protective fabric clothing to our military, law enforcement officers and fire fighters. Potomac garments, made from Advanced Protective Fabric™ (APF), have four way stretch and the feel of soft spun cotton. They are engineered to maximize comfort, performance and effectiveness. The patented fibers in our fabrics are highly reflective and help reduce damage from ultra violet radiation. Potomac Field Gear fire-resistant clothing is 100% American made.

Potomac Field Gear produces base layer clothing, ERT shirts specifically designed to be worn under tactical and concealment body armor and an advanced desert combat shirt with long sleeves designed to replace the standard military blouse currently worn by soldiers under their body armor.

FIRE RESISTANT PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

Our patented APF is composed of inherently fire resistant fibers. If exposed to sufficient heat energy to carbonize, it will self extinguish once the ignition source is removed. APF chars when exposed to direct flame but does not melt and does not drip.

ANTI-MICROBIAL AND ANTI-ODOR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

The silver fibers in our APF provide complete neutralization of organic odor agents (ammonia, urea, etc.), giving the wearer immediate and permanent scent protection. The silver fibers in our APF are FDA approved and used in premium wound care bandages. They are effective in killing a wide host of harmful bacteria. This protection is inherent in the fibers and is effective for the life of the fabric. APF also incorporates advanced capillary action to rapidly remove perspiration off the wearer’s skin.

ANTI-STATIC AND UV PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

The silver fibers in our garments provide unprecedented static electrical dissipation, helping to protect the wearer from static electric discharge. Our garments are safe in explosive and fuel rich environments and around sensitive electronic equipment. The silver fibers in our fabrics are also highly reflective and help reduce damage from ultra-violet radiation.

UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS FLAME RESISTANT ORGANIZATIONAL GEAR (FROG)

The United States Marine Corps selected Potomac Field Gear's APF lightweight long sleeve mock-turtleneck shirt (MMFR2014 - 008) and lightweight (MUFR2011 - 008) and mid-weight (MUFR1011 - 008) balaclavas with face guard as their first choice for the Flame Resistant Organizational Gear (FROG) generation one program. The USMC has selected "Sand" color to designate gear that has fire resistant capabilities. FROG items reached Marines early in 2007.

The USMC has also certified Potomac Field Gear short and long sleeve shirts (MMFR2002-004 and MMF2001-004) in olive drab for "optional uniform wear."
