27 January 2004 14:52
The MSA GALLET team is pleased to announce that the jet aircraft helmet system type LA 100 was selected on January 15th, 2004 by the French Air Force and Navy and has become the official helmet for pilots flying Mirage 2000, Rafale, Alphajet, Jaguar and Mirage F1 aircrafts.
The order of 1,620 helmet systems (1,500 Air Force and 120 Navy) is to be delivered during 2004 and comes with a maintenance contract for 5 years.
The French Air Force and Navy LA 100 helmet is equipped with the systems below:
- As standard the LA 100 dual visors and oxygen racks
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) clipped support for CN2H-AA system (French version)
- A special Water Activated Mask Release System (WAMRS) for Navy version only. This system is designed for situations when the pilot is unconscious and in water, the system releases the right side fixation of the oxygen mask when the helmet makes contact with water, so that pilot can breath freely.
This order is particularly important for many reasons. For example, because of the LA 100 helmet systems many accessories, NVG, oxygen masks and anti-laser goggles etc; this enhances the cooperation between MSA GALLET and many international high-tech companies and aircraft manufacturers.
