Most conventional body armor can sustain one or two strikes, but what if you were faced with multiple rounds of fire? Designed for safer energy distribution, In The Line Of Fire body armor can sustain multiple hits from not only low-calibre weapons, but also assault rifles like the AK-47 loaded with factory 7.62mm x 39mm mild steel core bullets, and high-power hunting rifles loaded with factory .338 Lapua (250 grain) bullets. In The Line Of Fire body armor can sustain these without fragmentation. Multi-hit protective body armourWe have designed a unique, non-ceramic system that can sustain more than one bullet. In fact, In The Line Of Fire body armor gets stronger with each shot: in laboratory tests, the backface swelling on our armor decreased with each bullet strike. Each bullet strike causes less backface signature than the previous one. Hard armour stand-alone plateAll In The Line Of Fire hard armor plates are exceptionally durable. They can be dropped onto a hard surface from a height of 5ft, and then stamped on. They can sustain multiple hits, stopping numerous rounds without penetration or fragmentation. In laboratory tests, the In The Line Of Fire Level III hard armor stand-alone plate was tested against the new multiple-shot burst developed for the National Institute of Justice’s new standard (NIJ 0101.06). Against the new three-barrel gun designed to simulate machine-gun fire, the In The Line of Fire Level III plate was struck by a multiple-shot burst at an average velocity of 717m/s with a spacing of 47mm x 7mm x 47mm using 7.62 x 39mm mild steel core (123 grain) rounds. The same In The Line Of Fire Level III plate was then struck by a new multiple-shot burst with the same spacing – but with a higher average velocity of 839m/s using 7.62mm x 51mm NATO Ball M80 (148 grain) full metal jacket (FMJ) rounds. These two high-powered multiple-shot burst tests did not compromise the In The Line Of Fire Level III hard armor plate. The backface signature of the six high-powered rounds was controlled, and did not exceed 44mm – within the NIJ standard. Besides the NIJ required rounds, the In The Line Of Fire Level III stand alone hard armor plate was also field-tested. It stops multiple rounds of various bullets – containing the energy and impact of rounds including:
