Hercules High-Performance Materials - Bullet Proof Fabrics and Armour Inserts

Hercules High-Performance Materials is one of the leading suppliers of lightweight and high-performance bullet proof materials in China. We supply bullet proof materials including the strongest high performance polyethylene yarn, polyethylene unidirectional (UD, non-woven) fabrics, soft armor panel (SAP) cut from the UD, and hard armour insert plate (HAP) laminated from the UD.

We also supply NIJ standards 0108.01, 0101.04 or 0101.06 type IIA, II, IIIA, III and IV bulletproof vests, jackets, ballistic helmets, vehicle panels and shields.

Bulletproof unidirectional (UD, non-woven) fabrics

Lightweight and high-performance polyethylene UD (non-woven) fabric is made from several layers of the strongest bullet proof fiber (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene / UHMWPE fiber). The fiber is lighter than water, resistant to UV, and is more than ten times stronger than high-quality steel and around 40% greater than normal aramid fiber. The modulus is very high and the elongation at breaking is very low.

The bullet proof UD (non-woven) fabric's anti-ballistic performance is higher than other conventional woven fabrics because the energy from a ballistic impact is quickly distributed along the fibers. It is typical bullet proof material used worldwide for soft body armour vests / jackets, hard armour insert plates, ballistic helmets and armoured vehicles. All of the bullet proof material (UD, non-woven) fabric has passed testing as a stand-alone product, according to the newest NIJ standards 0101.06 levels II, IIIA and III, at a famous laboratory. It can also meet level IV when made as a composite with ceramic-type material.

Soft armour insert panel (SAP)

Lightweight, soft and high performance SAP is the main ballistic system of bullet proof vests / jackets. It is cut from the polyethylene UD (non-woven) fabric through normal garment cut machine according on different vest size (or by order shape) and sew into a water-resistant cover.

SAP has passed NIJ 0108.01, 0101.04 and 0101.06 levels IIA, II and IIIA and 7.62mm x 25mm Tokarev (lead core) testing as a stand-alone product.

Hard armour insert plate (HAP)

The lightweight and high-performance HAP of body armor vest/jacket are laminated from 100% the polyethylene UD (non-woven) fabric or composite with ceramic tiles. It easily meets NIJ standards 0101.04 and 0101.06 levels III and IV, either as a stand-alone product or in conjunction with a level IIIA vest.

Lightweight and high-performance body armour

Our lightweight and high performance body armour include bullet proof vests / jackets, ballistic helmets and ballistic shields. It is made from the SAP and the HAP, and intergraded into an outer carry vest (OTV). It is available in different styles, colors, sizes and protection levels, and is lightweight and comfortable.
