Baker Ballistics produces the high-quality Baker Batshield® range of portable, lightweight, high-speed ballistic shields and personal protective armor devices. Our ballistic shields are ideal for surviving Immediate Action Rapid Deployment (IARD) and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) operations.

BALLISTIC SHIELD RANGE

The Baker Batshield ballistic shield range is also ideal for active shooter situations requiring the application of deadly force by law-enforcement patrols and tactical personnel. First responders now have the option of keeping portable, compact and versatile armored ballistic shields and personal armor devices in the patrol vehicle at all times.

A primary responsibility of first responders is to survive the violent encounter in order to save innocent lives. Baker Ballistics manufactures a lightweight full ballistic-coverage system, including a ballistic shield, which provides the wearer with ballistic protection from head to toe.

The Baker Ballistics lightweight full ballistic-coverage armored system is comprised of the following individual components:

• Leg armor

Rapid response is critical for the application of deadly force often required to end hostile active shooter situations. IARD tactics demand first responder assets which can survive a violent CQB in order to fulfill their public safety duty.

BAKER BATSHIELD BALLISTIC SHIELD RANGE

The inventor of the patented Baker Batshield ballistic shield is Lt. Al Baker, a highly decorated veteran of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit (ESU).

Lt. Baker personally designed the unique ballistic shield, using 23 years' experience of conducting room-breaching entries and handling of armed barricaded suspect situations to incorporate all possible requirements for individual military situations into the design.

The use of a Baker Batshield ballistic shield provides the user with an overwhelming advantage in an exchange of gunfire during CQB, significantly increasing the chances of survival. Many progressive law-enforcement agencies have implemented IARD tactics which include the utilization of Baker Batshield ballistic shields and ballistic protective products.

The Baker Batshield ballistic shield is designed in accordance with US National Institute of Justice NIJ-STD-0108.01 ballistic performance and Threat Level Type IIIA standards. This popular threat level of protection enables the entire ballistic shield to safely capture the great majority of handgun, sub-machinegun and shotgun projectiles.

Additionally, the Baker Batshield ballistic shield can be used during explosive force entry, as it provides the user with protection from bomb-blast fragmentation and blast overpressure.

NON-BALLISTIC TRAINING BAKER BATSHIELD

Nearly identical in weight, function, and design, the training Baker Batshield is non-ballistic and made to endure the typical rough treatment encountered during training programs.

Highly-visible components are permanently colored in training-blue to clearly signify that the shield is for training use only. The training Baker Batshield is made with multi-curved impact-resistant plastic and foam-backed nylon.

LED LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR POLICE AND MILITARY USE

Lightweight, bright, and removable, the LED lighting system mounts onto the center armor panel with Velcro, and is activated by a simple on / off switch. It provides bright, wide-angle, natural white light for over two hours, utilizing common long-life lithium batteries (CR123).

The LED lighting system weighs only six ounces, including batteries.

BALLISTIC LEG ARMOR FOR POLICE AND MILITARY USE

Baker Ballistics' highly-protective, silent, and soft Threat Level IIIA-capable leg armor features hard ballistic-composite impact-protection built-in over the knee, shin and thigh bones. This greatly reduces blunt trauma and helps keep the wearer upright and mobile during a gun battle.

Manufactured with lightweight aramid fiber, polyethylene armor composite, trauma-reducing foam and fire-retardant Nomex® covering, Baker Ballistics' military leg armor set weighs just 6.8lbs.

BALLISTIC VISOR FOR POLICE AND MILITARY USE

Baker Ballistics' face-armor visor is a clamp-on multi-hit ballistic clear Threat Level IIIA capable ballistic visor designed to fit most commonly available ballistic helmets, and shaped to interface perfectly with the Baker Batshield ballistic shield.

The ballistic face-armor visor can be quickly positioned up or down, and is made of laminated acrylic and polycarbonate clear plastic. It weighs just 3lbs.

BALLISTIC HELMET FOR POLICE AND MILITARY USE

Baker Ballistics also produces a comfortable, lightweight Threat Level Type IIIA capable ballistic helmet that reduces blunt trauma from high-energy handgun and sub-machinegun projectile impacts. The helmet weighs just 2.5lbs, and is constructed from molded plastic reinforced with aramid ballistic fiber.
