Stella Meta - Water Purification Equipment

Stella Meta, a part of ITT Corporation inc., manufactures mobile Water Purification Units (WPU), flexible water storage tanks and distribution accessories to provide safe drinking water from any water source, including seawater and sources contaminated by CBRN agents.

Our WPUs can be broadly categorised by source water type, with specific units including those listed below:

FRESHWATER PURIFICATION SYSTEMS

The WPU SG (Small Groups) freshwater purification system is capable of being parachute-dropped to supply 500L/hr from a freshwater source to self sufficient, isolated forces or displaced communities within 30 minutes of deployment.

The WPU S (Standard) freshwater purification system is a larger skid-mounted unit, also air droppable, capable of producing 7,000L/hr from a freshwater source. This unit can be deployed in a wide variety of configurations and has been widely used to supply drinking water to refugee camps and villages where the source has become contaminated.

The Type 10 freshwater purification system is a large capacity trailer-mounted unit suitable for treating up to 23,000L/hr of potable water from freshwater lakes or rivers.

DESALINATION SYSTEMS

The DM1 desalination system is a man-portable unit, used with the WPU S as a prefilter and incorporates reverse osmosis to produce 400L/hr by desalinating seawater.

DS9 is a trailer-mounted, diesel-powered reverse osmosis unit, capable of producing 2,000L/hr by desalinating seawater. All ancillaries required for deployment are stored on the trailer.

CONTAMINATED WATER PURIFYING SYSTEMS

DM2 is a man portable contaminated water purifying unit, used to upgrade the WPU S for the treatment of sources contaminated with pesticides or CBRN agents, producing 700L/hr.

WPU (NBC) is a trailer-mounted, diesel-powered water purification unit, incorporating a four-stage treatment process, including reverse osmosis, which is capable of producing 8,000L/hr from a fresh water source and 2,200L/hr from a CBRN contaminated source. The complete system including consumables and ancillaries for the storage and distribution of the purified water is carried on a trailer.

WPU (NBC) S is an upgraded version of the WPU (NBC) capable of desalinating seawater and CBRN contaminated freshwater at a rate of 2,200L/hr, or purifying any uncontaminated freshwater source at a rate of 8,000L/hr.

LOGISTIC SUPPORT

Comprehensive logistic support is offered, including technical advice, servicing, repair and training in the field. Our equipment is supplied with the necessary accessories, field spares and basic tools to ensure that potable water can be provided consistently and easily.

Our products, which are NATO codified, have been proven in combat situations and are regularly deployed with the British Army as well as with defence forces in UN or NATO peacekeeping missions.

Robustness, reliability, flexibility and ease of transport are fundamental to the product range, which also makes them particularly useful for emergency and disaster relief.

Furthermore, the units are designed to be simple and easy to operate and maintain, and employ components that are proven to be extremely durable. Stella Meta has provided WPUs for over 80 years, with units having been deployed across the world from frozen polar regions to deserts.
