Smiths Detection Launches FirstView iSC3

Smiths Detection today announced the formal launch of FirstView® iSC3 security platform, a powerful, network-based software solution that enables advanced management of security systems, including cameras and sensors.

It is currently being used in the most mission-critical applications by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the US Department of Defense (DoD) to secure a wide range of assets and to protect the public from terrorism.

Stephen Phipson, group managing director of Smiths Detection, said: “Smiths Detection has always excelled at updating existing technologies to better meet the needs of new and existing threats. FirstView can easily be set up to support many of the leading detection technologies in our product line, from chemical and biological sensors to X-ray imaging systems.”

FirstView is the only system that can readily integrate legacy security systems, layer on additional capabilities or integrate new systems - including CCTV, video analytics, CBRNE, access control, X-ray – easily and securely over any network for command and control, or even mobile applications.

FirstView iSC3 provides key functionality to meet a wide range of security management needs, while providing a seamless upgrade path for future expansion. FirstView’s core capabilities include digital video management, network video recording, GIS / mapping and alarm management. Optional sensor modules are also available and include video analytics, CBRNE- PROTECT™, X-ray and access control systems.
