Groundbreaking CBRN Garment Protection Ensemble Attains NFPA Certification

02 May 2006

British CBRN specialist REMPLOY FRONTLINE is proud to announce that its Frontliner CBRN garment protection system ( also known in the UK as the CR1 ) has been awarded the USA’s NFPA Certification by the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI).

The standard means that the ensemble has passed Class 3 requirements for the design, performance, testing and documentation of protective ensembles.

The certification represents yet another internationally recognised plaudit for this groundbreaking ensemble which has rewritten the established global CBRN garment system protocol. The suit presents an entirely new concept permeable system which combines high levels of protection with greatly reduced wearer burden. The reduced stress and improved manoeuvrability over vapour tight suits is significant. It can also be washed and is integrated with the best respiratory and ancillary protection items.

This further cements the Memorandum of Agreement recently made between the US and UK in sharing and providing innovative solutions in the fight against the terrorist threat.

Paul Dunderdale of Remploy Frontline states ‘We are extremely excited to have gained this important accreditation in the US market and are very proud of our current product offering. We are looking forward to introducing our capabilities to the US market. Over the last 3 years, the ensemble has been extensively used in the UK first response market and has been proven to offer high levels of protection whilst minimising the physiological burden on the wearer. No other system offers this balance.’
