Parker Hannifin ltd, domnick hunter division has been providing leading edge compressed air and gas solutions to the defence industry for more than 40 years in an ever changing tri-service defence market.

Parker Hannifin offer a diverse range of solutions for applications including CO2 reduction, low and high pressure desiccant drying, waveguide pressurization systems and breathing air systems, including Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) protection systems. Our systems are currently in service with the British Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force, and have over the years provided purified compressed air to critical applications.

CHEMICAL,BIOLOGICAL, RADIOLOGICAL AND NUCLEAR (CBRN) PROTECTION

The need to protect personnel against CBRN attack is considered a high priority of any security organisation. Faced by this ever increasing threat, the development of regenerative filtration systems that offer effective broad band spectrum protection against Chemical Weapons (CW) and Biological Weapon (BW) agents is a continuous technological challenge for us. The capability of this technology has been successfully demonstrated through our participation in various programmes including:

• A tri-nation consortium to develop and prove the technology, with Parker Hannifin as project leader
• The UK MOD technology demonstrator programme
• A co-operative research and development agreement in the US in conjunction with the Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC)

RADAR WAVEGUIDE PROTECTION

Dry compressed air is essential to prevent radio frequency energy from arcing, which can damage the wave-guide and radar power amplifier. The Parker domnick hunter waveguide air pressure unit consists of an integral air compression system as well as an air purification package designed to protect the radar equipment. This system is currently in service with the Royal Air Force.

BREATHABLE COMPRESSED AIR

The provision of high quality compressed air for breathing purposes is critical for personnel safety in potentially hazardous environments such as spray painting and fuel tank cleaning.

NITROGEN GENERATORS FOR TYRE INFLATION

Nitrogen gas is used extensively for the inflation of vehicle and aircraft tyres. The Parker domnick hunter range of nitrogen generators provides a dependable nitrogen supply to fill high pressure cylinders. This eliminates logistical and security problems. Existing bottles can be refilled on site and reused.
