From 13-18 September 2010, Hotzone Solutions successfully delivered a live agent training course for Dutch fire-fighters (HAZMAT officers).
During the six day course, participants underwent training with unsealed radioactive sources and chemical warfare agents. The focus of the training course was on safety, protection, detection, decontamination and scenario based exercises where the Dutch fire-fighters applied their own procedures and used, whenever possible, their own equipment.
The training took place in Austria and the Czech Republic at specialised training facilities. In the course of the week, participants conducted six hot zone entries, three with radioactive unsealed emitters and three with blister and nerve agents.
By successfully completing this course, the Dutch fire fighters are amongst the first fire fighters in Europe to receive training with live agents.
