Diodes for ionizing radiation detectionDetection Technology offers two series of high-performance detection diodes optimized for X-rays and alpha, beta, and gamma radiation. Detection Technology's radiation detector diodes are used in various dosimetry, spectroscopy and other measurement applications. XRA series high-resistivity diodes are optimized for ionizing radiation detection and measurement applications. These diodes are characterized by an excellent response to weakly penetrating radiation achieved by the use of high-purity starting material and special ultra-clean manufacturing process. Ultra-thin radiation entrance window provides optimized response to low-energy X-rays and heavy charged particles. Typical applications for the XRA series are X-ray and alpha ray spectroscopy as well as heavy charged particle measurement. XRB-series high-resistivity diodes are optimized for ionizing radiation detection. Excellent performance is based on the use of a high-resistivity silicon starting material and a high-purity manufacturing process.
