Wireless Intercom Capabilities for Maximum Mobility and Connectivity
The VIC-500 for tanks and other military vehicles is a wireless intercom system that 'frees' land warriors from having to use a communication cord. With this system, soldiers can move about – unencumbered – in and out of their vehicles, at distances of up to 800m, while remaining in touch with all of their mounted or dismounted crew members as well as with other forces and radio stations.
Combat-Ready Conferencing Communications
The VIC-500’s unique full-duplex conference communicating capability allows two crew members to speak simultaneously, while an unlimited number of personnel listen in, improving coordination and reducing operational errors. The system provides intra-team wireless conferencing communications as well as inter-connectivity to long-range VHF/HF/UHF networks, via vehicles’ mounted tactical radios.

Whisper function, 15 network channels, voice activated messages and alerts, sophisticated data communication protocols and full compliance with MIL-STDs are additional features that assure the VIC-500 wireless’ functional relevance to ground force mission demands.
Building Blocks
Each VIC-500 wireless system consists of a central, vehicle-mounted control box, and four lightweight crew member PNR-500 wireless terminals, which feature a headset with two PTT buttons, enabling crew members to immediately access the local VIC-500 wireless network and connect to external long-range tactical VHF/HF/UHF radio networks.
Introduced in June this year at Eurosatory in Paris, Tadiran Communications’ PNR-500 is an ‘Always Available’ Personal Network Radio system, with a special Emergency Break function for ‘Just Can’t Wait’ messages. This allows an authorized soldier to break in at any time and transmit an urgent message. The function is especially designed for combat critical moments, such as the immediate identification of an enemy combatant, or for the prevention of friendly fire. The PNR-500 can carry up to 15 preset frequency channels.
