Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics) today announced that DigiSAFE Cyber Security Centre has attained the Approved Training Organisation (ATO) status accredited by the Workforce Development Agency (WDA).

DigiSAFE Cyber Security Centre is the training arm of ST Electronics (Info-Security) Pte Ltd.

As an ATO, DigiSAFE Cyber Security Centre has met the criteria to conduct WSQ* trainings and assessments that are mapped to the National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF).

The Centre offers professional courses specialising in cyber security and these courses are designed and developed by leveraging ST Electronics (Info-Security)'s vast experience and proven track record in providing cyber security solutions to government agencies and commercial organisations.

The Centre was officially launched in 2014 by Ms Jacqueline Poh, Managing Director of Infocomm Development Authority Singapore, with a vision to train and develop Cyber Security Professionals to meet Singapore's increasing need for cyber security expertise.

As Singapore embarks on its Smart Nation drive, the need for more highly skilled cyber security professionals to combat growing cyber threats has become more critical. The country's critical infrastructures will require strong defence against external and internal exploits.

Therefore, a key element in maintaining a secured cyber environment is to strengthen human capability in cyber security.

Having an in-depth understanding of the cyber security environment in Singapore, DigiSAFE Cyber Security Centre's curriculum and courses are designed to support the Singapore Government's initiatives in building capabilities of individuals in cyber security operations skill sets to meet the needs of the Infocomm Technology (ICT) industry.

Since its inception, the Centre has successfully trained more than 300 cyber security professionals in less than two years.

DigiSAFE Cyber Security Centre is unique as it focuses on more than just knowledge and qualifications to deal with increasingly sophisticated and complex cyber threats.

It bridges the cyber security operations skills gap in the marketplace by providing individuals hands-on training in cyber defence and prepares them to be operationally ready. Its curriculum emphasises on providing a comprehensive range of operational-centric cyber security practical training courses.

The Centre also customises courses to meet the varied needs of organisations. The core of the Centre's training is based on a high-fidelity defence training and simulation environment that simulates multiple automatic and repeatable cyber-attack scenarios. This
offers the closest encounter that any trainee can experience in a cyber-attack scenario.

Trainees also get to experience and respond to an extensive kill-chain of malicious attacks in a realistic environment. To ensure the Centre's courses stay current and relevant to the industry's needs, it constantly seeks collaborations with leading domain experts across the world to develop relevant cyber security curriculums together with the Centre's trainers.

"ST Electronics is a leader in cyber security offering a comprehensive suite of cyber security solutions.

"The ATO accreditation of our DigiSAFE Cyber Security Centre signifies an important milestone for us as we continue to deliver high-quality cyber security training for PMEs to be better equipped in the Cyber Security domain, while meeting the nation's need for more highly-skilled cyber security experts," said Mr Lee Fook Sun, Deputy CEO and President, Defence Business of ST Engineering and President of ST Electronics.
