Sectra's security solution for mobile IP telephony, Sectra Panthon, has been granted approval by the EU at the security level Restricted.
Accordingly, officials and decision makers in the EU who must use security-approved products can protect their communications using Sectra Panthon.
Earlier this year, Sectra Panthon was approved by NATO and the Dutch National Agency for Communication Security.
"We are the only company to offer customers this kind of security solution featuring triple approval," says Michael Bertilsson, president of Sectra Communications.
Sectra Panthon is a security solution for mobile IP telephony and works equally well on 2G, 2.5G and 3G networks. It is a future-proof solution that enables secure communications essentially everywhere.
Using Sectra Panthon, it is just as easy to make encrypted calls as regular calls. The security solution is hardware-based in the form of a smartcard that is installed in the telephone. Sectra's close cooperation with customers and national security agencies in many countries has resulted in the company's solutions for secure communications now being deployed in 17 European countries, in the EU and NATO.
Users include officials at government agencies, defense and functions critical to society, such as municipalities, county councils, police, customs, emergency services and the coast guard.
