Power Sonix is a US manufacturer of high-powered loud hailers or acoustic hailing devices (AHDs) for military applications. Our systems are engineered to deliver extremely clear speech or siren signals above the noise of engines, rotors, and other ambient noise, over long distances. Power Sonix systems can be deployed on aircraft (rotary and fixed wing installations available), on naval vessels, and in back packs for infantry use. Custom development for vehicle mounting is also available. Lightweight loud hailersOur light-weight systems enable easier portability and are less taxing on both human carriers and fuel consuming vehicles, especially helicopters. The amplifier is uniquely designed to project the mid-tones of human speech with great clarity over long distances. This enables the crew to maintain maximum altitude from the target, providing a larger safety zone and more time to react in hostile environments. Users can play pre-recorded messages with commercial audio players, emit siren sounds, or talk live. Whether used for special operations, crowd control, search and rescue, emergency evacuation or PSYOPS (psychological operations), Power Sonix offers the best value and speech clarity available for distances up to 1.5 miles under ideal conditions. Loud hailers for global law enforcement and military applicationsPower Sonix systems are in use today with impressive results in law enforcement and military units around the globe, including the US, UK, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Italy, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden. China has recently added Power Sonix airborne systems to their governmental fleet for disaster response capabilities and for use at their Olympic Games to meet security needs. Since 1996, Taiwan's Sea Police ships have used 2,000W Power Sonix systems while patrolling their coastal waterways. The MTBF of Power Sonix equipment exceeds ten years. AHDs for speech clarity at long rangeIn 2006, the US Joint Command tested the top systems in the world at the Applied Research Laboratory, Pennsylvania State University and found Power Sonix technology "... among the best AHDs tested due to its ability to project intelligible speech to long ranges in combination with small size and weight." That report noted that the "ability of PSAIR42 to project significant lower frequency sound pressure levels (i.e., below 2kHz) is why it projects intelligible speech to 1,500m and some other AHDs cannot." We developed a custom loudhailer payload for the US Army's UAV "Snowgoose" program. This loitering UAV enables speech delivery to targets far away using pre-recorded messages or live uplink. Tested at both the Yuma Proving Grounds and at Ft. Bragg, our customized loudhailer payload was clearly audible from over a mile away from a one mile altitude. Helicopter-mounted AHDsOur new PS-AHD-1500 system for the Black Hawk class helicopter (used in pairs for a total 3,000W of power) will cover a 1.5 mile-wide, intelligible speech path from an altitude of half a mile. This system is a self-contained, palletized payload that installs in less than 10 minutes without any power or communication connections to the cockpit and requires no special tooling. The high efficiency batteries provide two and a half hours of continuous speech broadcasting. In the event of a natural or man-made disaster, the fastest way to communicate critical life-saving information to those affected is with this highly effective speech projection technology.
