L-3 TRL Technology Expands World-Class Training Resource with ECM Threat Cell

Tewkesbury, United Kingdom – L-3 Communications TRL Technology (L-3 TRL Technology), a division of L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL), continues to expand its world-class training resource. The latest addition includes a specialist ECM threat cell, providing analysis and direct support in preparation for and during deployment in high threat areas.
Staffed by an expert team with more than 30 years' combined military and commercial expertise, L-3 TRL Technology's training centre capability spans the complete range of products and deployment scenarios. Training programmes include needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation, with customers over the past 20 years typically including international and national government agencies, and armed forces around the world, including NATO member forces.
A key element of L-3 TRL Technology's training is to ensure that customers have the appropriate knowledge and operational skills to use the company's life-saving products to maximum effect across the range of military operations, as well as civil and police applications, as Dave Watson, L-3 TRL Technology's training manager, explains: "We focus on providing world-class training solutions that are exactly matched to a customer's requirement.
"Much of our defence electronics equipment is used in critical military deployments, and operator knowledge can literally represent the difference between life and death. Our team comprises a number of recently retired British Army personnel, and we include direct and wide-ranging in-service ECM experience – in relation to Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), as well as VVIP protection and Force Protection duties."
The ECM threat cell represents an important addition, as Dave Watson continues: "We believe that we offer a unique commercial capability with our ECM threat cell, providing an expert resource to analyse and interpret all aspects of existing and emerging radio control threats.
"Military commanders and NGOs operating in high threat environments are only too well aware of the proliferation of Radio Controlled Improved Explosive Device (RCIED) technology.
