INTRACOM Defense Electronics Launches New Tactical Communications

INTRACOM Defense Electronics launched its new product Spart@n which is a new IP (Internet Protocol) broadband Radio System for secure information transfer at the tactical level.

Spart@n can be interfaced with any type of peripheral IP device, such cameras, sensors and computers, in order to accommodate for the needs of real time transmission of Digital Battlefield Information, Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Video.

The capabilities of the system were demonstrated in real time link with units in the field. "Spart@n has been designed by INTRACOM Defense Electronics based on cutting edge technologies and it is an ideal solution for all types of vehicles (tracked and wheeled) as well as for vessels, providing an agile, efficient and robust network-centric communications infrastructure.

It is the only system internationally, which is specifically designed to transfer Battle Management data, in real time in the theatre of operations," stated Mr. George Troullinos, Chief Executive Officer of INTRACOM Defense Electronics.

Spart@n's presentation was attended by representatives of the Ministers of Defense, Shipping & Aegean, Public Order & Citizens Protection, the General Directorate of Defense Investments and Armaments (GDDIA), officers of all branches of the Armed Forces, the Police, the Coast Guard, the Fire Department, Defense Attachés of fourteen countries, executives of Hellenic and foreign companies-partners, as well as media representatives.
