Innovative Concepts’ latest release incorporates SATCOM protocol and enhanced message sets for increased interoperability.
Innovative Concepts, Inc., a data communications technology development company and the world’s leading proponent of IDM Technology®, announces the general availability release of PCIDM™ V2.70. PCIDM™ V2.70 will help customers maintain their previous PCIDM™ capabilities and expand into new functionality, such as the addition of the military standard SATCOM protocol, enhanced Application Message Parser support with 33 new messages, and a new Variable Message Format (VMF) parser for F/A-18 compatibility.
The PCIDM™ is a low cost, portable alternative to the Avionics IDM Line Replaceable Unit (LRU). It is comprised of a single Type 2 Extended PCMCIA card, paired with a full software development kit for Windows, Linux and Solaris and application software for Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP. The protocols available with the PCIDM™ are the same protocols used in the avionics version of the IDM, providing fully certified interoperability with any Innovative Concepts, Inc. designed IDM Technology® product.
With a PCIDM™ and a computer, the user can send and receive AFAPD, TACFIRE, MTS, IDL, and JVMF messages over the air. The PCIDM™ allows most combat elements to utilize their existing inventory of tactical radios to communicate with an array of platforms that support these same message sets.
PCIDM V2.70 Now Includes MIL-188-184 SATCOM
Integration of the MIL-STD-188-184 SATCOM capabilities now allows the PCIDM™ to be used in conjunction with either 25 KHz or 5 KHz UHF tactical SATCOM channels, thus increasing the number of radios for use with the PCIDM™. This feature was also designed to be compatible with other commercial SATCOM modems.
Enhanced Application Message Parser (AMP©) with 33 New AFAPD Messages
In this release Innovative Concepts, Inc. has updated AMP© and AMP© GUI (user interface) to provide additional support to both the U.S. Apache (Lot 6) and the UK Westland Apache attack helicopters. This enhancement allows any suitable ground station to communicate via PCIDM™ to the aircraft utilizing a selection of over 33 new AFAPD messages. The PCIDM™ AFAPD message set now includes 42 total messages.
New VMF Parser Introduced for F/A-18 Compatibility
The new PCIDM™V2.70 also includes a new VMF parser which supports both VMF R3 and VMF R2. The addition of VMF R2 support allows the PCIDM™ to communicate with the USMC F/A-18.
