Innovative Concepts Announces the Release of Personal Computer Improved Data Modem Version 2.85

Innovative Concepts' latest release incorporates updated FalconView® integration software, MTS VIXL support for OH-58D, and optimized MTS support for AV-8B.
McLean, VA – November 8, 2004 – Displaying its ongoing commitment to provide truly interoperable data link technology, Innovative Concepts announces the release of PCIDM® V2.85. The PCIDM® is a low cost, portable data communications solution that is a single Type 2 Extended PCMCIA card, paired with a full software development kit for Windows, Linux and Solaris and application software for Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP. The protocols available with the PCIDM® are the same protocols used in the avionics version of the IDM, providing fully certified interoperability with any Innovative Concepts designed IDM Technology® product. With a PCIDM® and a computer, a user can send and receive VMF, AFAPD, TACFIRE, MTS, IDL, and MIL-STD-188-184 SATCOM messages over virtually any tactical digital or analog radio. This allows combat elements to utilize their existing inventory of tactical radios to communicate with multiple platforms that support these same message sets.
PCIDM® V2.85 incorporates three primary updates:
- DigiTAC™ now provides integrated ground-based mission management for both AH-64D Apache Longbow and IDM-equipped F-16’s: DigiTAC™, the latest offering in integrated IDM Technology® solutions, combines the messaging capability of AMPGUI with the combat proven mapping and mission management capabilities of FalconView®. The result is an application that provides users with a complete C2 toolset that integrates communications, mapping, mission management, and messaging for these two platforms. Initial users of DigiTAC™ are utilizing this solution to provide data communications from a ground station to the AH-64D Apache. This demonstration is offered as a trial edition for PCIDM® V2.85 users only. Updates include expanded A series messages and an A301 to X202 message translator.
- MTS VIXL support for transferring images with the OH-58D Kiowa: In direct support of the Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) Program Office, MTS VIXL support was added to the PCIDM® protocol package to allow image transmission between the new AMPS ground station (Miltope TSC-750 with PCIDM®) and the OH-58D Kiowa.
- Improved MTS interoperability with the AV-8B based on platform testing: In direct support of the USAF TACP Modernization Special Programs Office, the existing MTS protocol support package was optimized for the AV-8B ATHS II based on actual platform testing conducted at NAWCD China Lake.
