Euroquartz launches new ultra low jitter oscillators

Frequency control specialist Euroquartz has launched a new range of oscillators offering an ultra-low phase jitter of 50fs. The new oscillators are produced in the UK and provide LVCMOS output from a supply voltage of 1.8V, 2.5V or 3.3V.

Designed for use in applications that require ultra-low phase noise, such as flat panel displays for consumer TVs, video streaming systems via external cables (LDI), high-speed serial communications links such as Serial ATA and FireWire, SONET, xDSL, SDH, set-top box and Ethernet cards; the new EQHJ series oscillators deliver frequency stability from ±25ppm across the industrial frequency range of -40°C to 85°C.

Three industry standard surface mount packages are available encompassing 7.0mm x 5.0mm x 1.4mm, 5.0mm x 3.2mm x 1.2mm and 3.2mm x 2.5mm x 1.0mm. Current consumption ranges from 3mA, 5mA maximum for the smallest package size to 7mA, and 10mA maximum for the largest devices.

All package sizes are available across the frequency range of 5.0mHz to 50mHz and additional specifications include 15pF load (CMOS), start-up time of 0.8ms typical, 5.0ms maximum and duty cycle of 50% ±5% (measured at 50% VDD). Typical rise times are 5.0ns for smallest size down to 1.5ns for largest package, 10ns maximum across all sizes. Ageing is ±3ppm for first year and ±2ppm per year thereafter (at 25°C). Phase noise specifications are 48fs typical at 3.3VDD and 118fs typical at 1.8VDD.

Euroquartz is an independent UK-based manufacturer and supplier of quartz crystals, oscillators, filters and frequency-related products to the electronics manufacturing industry worldwide. The company is AS9100 registered and designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of frequency control components for a wide range of customers, including major OEMs covering a broad spectrum of applications such as military and aerospace, communications, general electronics, computing, control systems and petrochemical among many others.
