Enterprise Control Systems - COFDM Microwave Links

We are now in our third enterprising decade. Enterprise Control Systems Ltd (ECS) is a privately owned British company, discreetly located in rural Northamptonshire. Having established an enviable reputation for analogue video links, primarily designed for security markets, ECS now has a broad portfolio of products including a range of COFDM microwave link systems. and RF inhibition systems. ECS first designed COFDM links in late 1990s. We now have fully proven, fourth generation equipment and a growing portfolio of link systems to carry video, data and telemetry signals.

In April 2007 ECS was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation Section. The Award is in recognition of the company’s work in COFDM links; the encrypted communication system that is used in police helicopters across the country, and in military and surveillance aircraft around the world.

COFDM VIDEO LINKS

The benefits of COFDM technology are well known and have been acknowledged as a major step forward in video transmission. ECS has been heavily involved in the introduction of this technology to the market and is pleased to be able to offer a comprehensive range of transmission equipment.

COFDM PORTABLE AND BODY-WORN SYSTEMS

A wide range of systems field proven systems are on offer including the Sentry and Mini-link systems. These feature MPEG 2 encoding and COFDM modulation techniques for 2K carrier DVB compliant performance. ECS is pleased to introduce the new 'Snoopy' ultra compact COFDM system, which utilises variable COFDM carrier transmission for reduced bandwidth operation. These systems are available in standard bands from 300MHz to 5GHz and are supplied with a range of antenna systems suitable for covert or overt operations.

AIRBORNE DOWNLINK SYSTEMS

Having pioneered COFDM transmission from air-borne platforms in the late 1990’s ECS is now supplying fourth generation downlink systems for police and military surveillance forces. The range of products includes single and dual channel downlinks with portable uplink facility. These can be installed as permanent fixed installations or easily deployable portable systems. All ECS airborne equipment is designed to meet the stringent levels required for bump, vibration and airworthiness on a vast range of platforms.

FIXED-LINK INFRASTRUCTURE AND NETWORK SYSTEMS.

ECS has the ability to design, manufacture install and commission complete infrastructure and networks on a turnkey basis. These rely on the expertise of the ECS engineering department as well as fully field proven products such as the Guardsman fixed link system. The Guardsman is built to full military specification and back filled with dry nitrogen to ensure un-compromised environmental performance. The Guardsman can be supplied for simplex or duplex operation with accredited AESG approved encryption, video quality exceeding DVB standards.

OBSERVATION PLATFORMS

ECS is able to offer a range of custom built Rapid Deployment Observations Kit (RADOK). These utilise a secure narrow band telemetry signal used to control single or multiple camera systems. Return video link is provided by ECS range of portable or fixed link systems. Systems can be packaged to meet customers’ individual requirements for size, frequency band and electrical power.
