Oakdale, New York – CJ Component Products, a design and manufacturing company of tactical audio products, has successfully completed a new handset design which can be used for special patrol operations and close-in situations, as well as standard radio handset roles. The design has been accepted by the US Army and units are already in the field.
Battlefield situations for the warfighter vary from high noise to close-in patrol operations creating situations for specialized communication needs. The soldier in the field needs the ability to have an audio accessory that meets both demands.
Responding to soldiers' requests, CJ developed the CJ-HV-250. The handset includes all of the audio and physical characteristics of the CJ-H-250 series handset with some key additions.
Firstly, a rotary volume control switch is added to the face of the handset, giving easy access to the user to adjust the incoming volume. With this feature the volume may be adjusted while the operator is holding the handset to the ear in a listening position or may be worn on the lapel bringing the volume to the needed level.
The second added feature of the CJ-HV-250 handset is an external ear-bud earphone, which attaches to the side of the handset. Once the ear-bud is plugged in the handset speaker is automatically turned off and all incoming audio is heard via the ear-bud earphone. The handset has now become a close-in, patrol operation unit for when quiet communication is required.
Whether the need is for an audio handset or for a lapel speaker microphone, the CJ-HV-250EB handset offers the user the ability to enhance operations using one communication platform. Meeting the needs of the worldwide tactical communications community by providing solutions to vital communication platforms, the CJ-HV-250 handset is developed in response to warfighters' needs.
