Canadian Army Orders 23 tEODor

09 August 2006

OTTAWA/OSTFILDERN, March 2006 - The Telerob company of Ostfildern, Germany has succeeding in convincing another high-prestige client of the outstanding performance characteristics of its tEODor bomb disposal robot. In a hard-fought competition against "home teams" from the United States and Canada, tEODor ultimately came out on top.

Canada's are the 14th NATO armed forces in recent years to select the world's most successful EOD robot. Partly responsible for what finally proved to be a unanimous decision were surely the tEODor robots deployed in Afghanistan during the past two years. In Kabul and Kandahar, the Canadian Army has had abundant opportunity to observe the system in action under extremely harsh environmental conditions. Users have been particularly impressed by Telerob's perfect service: Telerob specialists serviced the systems several times on location, avoiding what would otherwise have been prolonged downtimes for repairs.

All 23 systems will be delivered this year. The team in Ostfildern is eager to find out if the Canadians will exercise their option for a further ten units. This would give the Canadian Army 35 vehicles, giving them the second-largest tEODor fleet after Germany's Bundeswehr.
