Allen-Vanguard (Formerly PW Allen)

Watch the World Through a 2.5mm Hole

10 August 2004 16:39

PW Allen has launched two kits allowing security professionals to observe a room through a hole so minute it is virtually invisible.

The Micro Through-Wall and Through-Ceiling Remote Viewing Kits include surveillance scopes which can be used through a hole just 2.5mm in diameter.

The scopes are easily installed by drilling a hole straight through a wall or ceiling tile.

The imaging system of the through-wall surveillance scope has an offset 55 degree field of vision which can be rotated to provide an 85 degree view of the interior.

It yields bright, sharp images that can be seen directly through the eyepiece. Alternatively, the eyepiece can be removed and the scope can be coupled to a video camera to allow remote observation and recording.

The device comes with eyepiece, optional 180mm or 280mm endoscope and an expandable wall mounting bracket that can be fitted to various wall thicknesses.

The through-ceiling scope is a shorter version of the through-wall scope. It is c-mount adjustable and comes with a mounting bracket which can be altered to let you install the scope to view at any angle into the room below. The imaging system provides an offset 55 degree field of view.

Both the wall and ceiling kits come with 2.5mm drill bit and centring bushing, 4mm drill bit and protective carrying case and adapt to IR vision accessories.

Roy Peers-Smith, managing director of PW Allen said: “Using these viewers, professionals can see exactly what is going on in a room almost as if they were there themselves. They are so discrete and easy to use that the person under surveillance remains totally oblivious.”

PW Allen, based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, was set up more than 50 years ago and has long-established connections with the British Army, police, security, immigration and Custom & Excise authorities.
