ECA Exhibits Range of Mobile Unmanned Ground Vehicles and Hybrid UUVs

25 August 2009

ECA designs and delivers state-of-the-art robotic and intelligent solutions for defence and civil security. The main aim of ECA developments is to save people involved in life-threatening missions such as mine warfare, EOD/IEDD, conflicts, terrorist threats, hazmat, nuclear power industry or deep offshore.

With more than 800 robots sold worldwide, ECA is the world leader in unmanned underwater mine disposal vehicles and French leader in land robotics.

The company is to exhibit a range of mobile unmanned ground vehicles and hybrid UUV.

Lightweight UGVs (2.5kg to 6kg)

INBOT and COBRA have been specifically designed for fast deployment in harsh and dangerous environment. Ideally suited to increase situational awareness these UGV can perform reconnaissance, inspection and EOD missions.

Modularity: winning concept

One vehicle platform for carrying out various duties is the thought behind CAMELEON platform concept: payloads are rapidly integrated, return on investment is guaranteed not only on operator level, but also on vehicle investment and spares. Hence the robot's name.

CAMELEON EOD and NRBCE

Modularity is fine, but ECA also offers CAMELEON robots already equipped for specific missions such as EOD or NRBCE detection and analysis.

Search and detection of limpet mines

Exhibit ROVING BAT is a hybrid free flying underwater platform used for search and disposal of limpet mines or other explosive/suspect devices attached on ships halls, harbour walls or piers. It is also used for the survey of ships' halls.
