Defence system safety engineering
AMOG can conduct a wide range of system safety and risk activities across all phases of technology acquisition and sustainment. We can provide on-site safety management support or off-site detailed studies. Our services are applicable from the concept phase throughout the project lifecycle and into the in-service sustainment phase.
We include the development of full safety cases and reports, conducting specialist safety workshops, quantitative / qualitative risk assessments, software safety and assurance assessments, analytical consequence modelling, and specialist safety studies such as fire, blast and smoke / plume modelling. Hazard identification, tracking and management tool
AMOG has designed and developed SITREP, a sophisticated hazard identification, tracking and management tool, designed to capture hazard data in real-time, from anywhere and at any time. Based around a powerful architecture, SITREP provides maximum flexibility to manage the most demanding of safety problems. SITREP is commercially available and is currently used by a number of defence agencies.
Defence system safety management and engineering master-class programmes
AMOG delivers specialised system safety management and engineering master class programmes for the defence industry. These are delivered through our Engineers Education Australia (EEA) public course offerings or we can deliver on-site specialist courses on request.
Advanced structural analysis for defence vehicles
AMOG maintains an advanced structural engineering capability, able to model the effects of explosive blast and ballistic impact events on vehicles, structures and their occupants. This capability includes assessment of structural fatigue, hydro-structural interaction, large deformation events and structural life extension.
Vessel and vehicle modelling services
AMOG has significant experience in modelling the motions of vessels and vehicles during the conduct of ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore transfer operations. This includes the assessment of safe-to-operate or go-no-go criteria for operations such as stern door mating and transfer operations, and launch and recovery of vessels while afloat.
Defence vehicle modelling and simulation
AMOG maintains an advanced computational fluid dynamics capability, which we can use to simulate / analyse issues such as air and exhaust flow (including its effects on flight operations from hele-decks), fire and smoke spread, toxic gas dispersion / spread and explosion modelling.
