Indian Ordnance Factories specialise in the design and manufacture of a number of products for the land, air and marine defence sectors. Our comprehensive product portfolio includes small, medium and large calibre weapons and ammunition, mortars, explosives and pyrotechnics. Indian Ordnance Factories also supply armoured and soft skin vehicles, optical and night vision devices and parachutes.

Known as the 'Fourth Arm' of the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Ordnance Factories comprise 39 factories that between them cover all aspect of production from basic metals to highly technical finished products. As well as producing advanced weapons systems and ammunition Indian Ordnance Factories are skilled in logistics, research and development and the operation of integrated manufacturing systems.

Large calibre weapon systems and ammunition

Indian Ordnance Factories' high-quality products includes a comprehensive range of Large calibre weapons and ammunition. Product specifications include:

• 84mm RCL and ammunition (TPT, HE, HEAT and illuminating)
• 105mm light field gun and ammunition gun HE, HESH, smoke and illuminating; ammunition tank APDS, DS practice, FSAPDS, HESH and SH practice
• 106 RCL and HEAT ammunition
• 130mm M46 upgrade to 155/45 calibre gun and ammunition; 130mm HE and 155mm HE, smoke, illuminating and ERFB version
• 125mm HE, HEAT and FSAPDS ammunition
• 68mm SNEB arrow rockets and aerial bombs (HSLD 250kg, 450kg and 1000lb)

Medium calibre weapon systems and ammunition

Product specifications include:

• 12.7mm AA, HMG and ammunition
• 23mm Ghasha aircraft gun; Ghasha and Schilka ammunition
• 30mm cannon and ammunition BMP-2K (HE/T, AP/T, HE/I); Ghasha and Aden ammunition
• 40mm L70 AA gun and HET and TPT ammunition

Small calibre weapon systems and ammunition

Indian Ordnance Factories small calibre weapons and ammunition have the following specifications:

• 5.56mm INSAS LMG, SLR and assault rifles; ammunition - INSAS ball, SS109, M193 and tracer
• 7.62mm MMG, LMG, SLR and Assault Rifles; Ammunition - Ball (51mm and 39mm), tracer and blank
• 9mm carbine and pistol; ammunition - ball parabellum, tracer and blank

Chemicals, explosives, propellants and pyrotechnics

Product specifications include:

• Demolition stores, explosives, chemicals, single, double and triple base propellants for small, medium and large calibre ammunition
• Signalling and illuminating pyrotechnics

Mortars and ammunition

Indian Ordnance Factories supply a complete range of mortars and related ammunition. Models include 51mm, 81mm and 120mm mortars and HE, smoke, illuminating and mortar training ammunition.

Armoured and soft skinned vehicles

We supply a range of standard and custom made military vehicles suitable for any situation. These include MBTs (Ajeya upgraded T72, Arjun), APCs (Sarath BMP-2K, carrier mortar tracked vehicle), heavy and medium payload vehicles and mine protected vehicles.

Parachutes and troop comfort items

Our products cover personnel, retarding and brake parachutes plus a full range of tents, military fatigues and troop comfort stores.

Optical and night vision devices

These include day and night vision binoculars and sights for weapons and personnel and day and night sights and instruments for armoured vehicles.
