ESSI Receives Services Contract for RSAF

St. Louis, June 30, 2004 - Engineered Support Systems, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: EASI) wholly-owned subsidiary Technical and Management Services Corporation (TAMSCO) has been awarded an $11.2 million six-month contract extension under its Rapid Response (R2) contract by the United States Air Force to support the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). TAMSCO's work under this contract extension runs through November 2004. The task order calls for TAMSCO to continue to provide a variety of services to the RSAF throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including integrated logistical services for aircraft parts, personnel, procurement, maintenance, documentation and specialized management services to the United States Air Force and the RSAF. These types of services have been previously provided by TAMSCO under an existing contract during the past six years, according to Jerry Daniels, Vice Chairman and CEO of Engineered Support Systems.
Services to be provided include the provision of support to the print plant operation at Riyadh; the operation of an In-Kingdom forward supply/repair and return point at Dhahran for various RSAF Foreign Military Sales (FMS) weapons systems; and, supplying program support personnel. TAMSCO's print plant operation includes technical data production printing, binding and distributing documents to meet the Print on Demand (POD) requirements to support the RSAF. TAMSCO also maintains the POD system with hardware and software enhancements and previously developed the required graphical user interface enhancements that allow TAMSCO to pro-actively provide system upgrades as well as other helpful functions.
In conjunction with its task to support the In-Kingdom forward supply/repair and return (R&R) point, TAMSCO has identified In-Kingdom vendors to provide parts to reduce the backlog of repairable assets as well as to identify In-Kingdom sources with capability and/or qualifications to complete repairs. TAMSCO qualifies capable vendors, provides stock, store and issue functions, performs inventories and provides meeting support to the RSAF Chief of Logistics and Supply. R&R cases managed by TAMSCO involve aircraft components, munitions, advanced systems and logistical support.
