Tepas

Tepas produces a number of AC and DC electric motor types in power ranges of 40W to 7,500W, used throughout the military sector, as well as automotive and electrification projects.

In addition, currently in production are permanent magnet and brushless alternators, ranging from 100A to 600A in 28VDC systems.

Specialised pumps and blowers for military environments

Tepas specialises in customising products to meet customer requirements, as well as military and commercial standards and specifications, such as MIL-STD-461 (in various versions) and MIL-STD-1275.

The 10kW APU complies with Mil-Std-4015 and / or Mil-Std-26482, Mil-STD-1275B, Mil-STD-461E and Mil-STD-810F.
This air-cooled alternator is directly coupled to the drive motor flywheel. The alternator complies with MIL-STD 461F and Mil-Spec 201.
Bilge pumps are manufactured according to MIL-P-62156B. They operate fully submerged at 28vdc and can run dry for a limited duration.
This motor is used on M52 Howitzers for adjusting the elevation of the gun and traversing the cupola.
The blower is used on Leopard I and II, Pandur 6X6 and 8X8 armoured vehicles.

A wide range of bilge pumps are available, with a variety of different power output levels, suitable for both military and commercial applications. They are manufactured to the MIL-P-62156B standard and operate when fully submerged at 28VDC.

The motor housings, made of steel and yokes, are constructed from chromate plated aluminium alloy, and the motor shaft and bolts are made of stainless steel. The bilge pumps are used on M60 tanks, Main Battle Tanks, self-propelled Howitzers, M113 combat vehicles, and in all kind of amphibious military vehicles.

Diesel fuel pumps are available in various power and flow rates, and are manufactured with two individual pumps. The pumps are vane-type and rotor-stator are made of hardened steel. They are used on the self-propelled Howitzer T-52 for the fuel transfer application.

Scavenge blowers ( equipped with Brush type motors and Brushless motors) are used on Leopard I and II upgrades, 6×6, 8×8 military vehicles, and M113 armoured personnel vehicles.

Alternators and power units APU for military applications

Permanent magnet and brushless alternators are available in various voltages and powers for vehicle and APU applications. Alternators are tested for MIL-STD 461 (various versions), MIL-STD-1275 (various versions), and all environmental military and commercial standards.

Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) range from 3kW to 17kW for military applications. The APUs are tested for MIL-STD-461E, MIL-STD-1275D and dry weights range from 132kg to 500kg equipped with state-of-the-art electronic control panel.

They are controlled by microprocessors, allowing flexibility in charging operational features and software upgrade. The APUs are equipped with software controls to various standards, including CANBUS SAE J1939.

AC and DC motors for commercial applications

Circuit breaker mechanism motors are serial wound, shunt and compound motors. They are used on medium voltage circuit breakers for re-tensioning springs. They can be produced for various voltages.

Door opener mechanism electric motors: motor field windings are replaced by permanent magnets. The motor’s speed-torque performance is linear and performs higher when starting at variable and constant speeds with respect to AC motors. Motors are integrated with 20, 40 or 100 pulse / rev optical encoders and their power range is 24VDC/60W, 24VDC/90W, 24VDC/120W, and 48VDC/120W.

Medical equipment are high-speed (14,000rpm), AC induction motors for blood, urea and sperm centrifuge. Motors available include:

  • E-Type shaded pole motor with 220VAC/30W
  • Asynchronous motor 3x220VAC/100W to 600W power

Industrial permanent magnet (PM), DC motors include motors in various voltages and powers. DC motors are shunt wound and commutation poles ensure reliable operation and longer brush life. The self-mounted fan cools the motor regardless of the rotating direction. With electronic speed control, motors can start under load, reverse and dynamically brake.

The 8.5kW HUB motor fits into the unused volume in the vehicle wheel due to its nominal voltages of 60VDC, 72VDC, or 84VDC. The in-wheel motor can be both applied to used cars without any modifications and to new cars in production along with the vehicle architecture.

The HUB motor employs neodymium-iron-boron magnets and has multiple poles. High-power density and efficiency result from removing of rotor windings and minimising losses from magnetic-flux. The motor is cooled by air and can be in 60VDC, 72VDC, or 84VDC systems.

The 15kW BLDC motor has multiple poles and neodymium-iron-boron magnets are employed. It is used as fan motor on vehicle.

The 45kW motor is mounted directly on the vehicle transmission, using multiple poles and neodymium-iron-boron magnets to enable high-energy density.

Commutators

Commutators range from eight to 24 bars in various dimensions, and are manufactured by innovative automatic machines capable of producing large quantities.
