Zeppelin has delivered the first of an initial four units of a Command Post series for the Singapore Air Force. The unit was supplied to Singapore company ST Electronics, a leading organization in the integration of military electronic systems.

The double-side expandable Command Post had to comply with advanced weight requirements of 12 tons. Not only the Shelter but also the electric lifting jacks had to be reinforced and adapted to this special requirement. The extensions of the expandable Shelter have to carry a maximum of 3 tons each. This requirement resulted from a potential workforce of up to 14 persons inside the Shelter in addition to the racks and other equipment – not to forget the power generator and air condition unit located in the technical room of the Shelter.

During factory acceptance test at the Zeppelin headquarters in Friedrichshafen / Germany, all Shelter parts had to undergo very severe test procedures, particularly in terms of loading capacities. Special test loads had to be organized in order to carry out all requested test runs.

The Command Post will be placed on an 8×8 vehicle but can also be used on ground. It can be unloaded either by means of the electric lifting jacks or through a special hooking platform.
