Nordic Shelter AS Delivers Mobile Tire Repair Shelters for Swedish Armed Forces

Nordic Shelter has delivered mobile tire repair shelters (MTRS) to the Swedish Armed Forces to replace the current units in-service.

The expanding shelters offer an outstanding workspace that is fully equipped to service tires from all existing in-service types in the Swedish Armed Forces.

The first three shelters were accepted by the Swedish Armed Forces Material Administration (FMV) a few weeks ago and will largely enhance their service capability domestically and when deployed abroad.

The contract was placed by directly with Nordic Shelter AS after a tender announcement in competition with six other suppliers.

Stein Walle, managing director at Nordic Shelter, expressed his satisfaction with the delivery as this further proves Nordic Shelter's ability to design and supply complex systems to demanding clients on a "turn-key" basis.

The MTRS shelters are designed to sustain adverse climatic conditions within a temperature range of -35°C to 49°C, as well as heavy snow loads and sand storms.

The MTRS accommodates a full range of machines, tools and storage cabinets as well as a collapsible tire security cage for servicing the largest tires in the Swedish vehicle inventory. Set up time for the system is less than 30 minutes by two operators.

The MTRS support infrastructure includes an air-conditioning unit, dual voltage electrical system, heating devices, compressed air aggregate, and distribution infrastructure and air extraction system The shelters are fully CSC-certified and can be transported by road, rail, sea and air.
