Over 55,000 oil and gas professionals from around the world will flock to Rio de Janeiro to attend the Rio Oil & Gas Expo and Conference held from 17-20 September 2012. Established in 1982, visitors will have access to panels on the pressing issues facing the industry such as operational safety, exploration frontiers, and much more.

Visitors will also have access to 1,500 leading suppliers from the oil and gas industry showcasing their latest innovations. Organized by the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas, and Biofuels Institute (IBP), the slogan for this year’s event is ‘Innovation and growth with Responsibility’.

Klinge Corporation will be exhibiting at the State of Pennsylvania Pavilion. The company will be showcasing their new Zone 1 Explosion-Proof Refrigerated Container.

The Zone 1 system, model PFR-581 Z1, is intended for safe use in places likely to become endangered by explosive atmospheres. It complies with the extremely challenging ATEX Directive which sets forth safety guidelines for equipment in potentially explosive atmospheres, like the environments frequently encountered in the oil and gas industry.

The system is currently being certified to this standard by a leading testing body. Klinge Corp also offers an Explosion-Proof Refrigerated Container for less demanding Zone 2 hazardous areas as well as units for transport of hazardous cargo such as IMO class 5.2 organic peroxides and Class 4.1 self-reactive hazardous cargo.

The Zone 1 and Zone 2 refrigeration equipment can be mounted to 10ft or 20ft DNV 2.7.1/EN 12079 certified containers also developed specifically by Klinge Corporation for the off-shore industry. The DNV container is designed to comply with the most stringent offshore regulations to ensure the safety of personnel working on oil rigs and oil tankers, as well as the environment. The refrigeration equipment is also available on ISO certified containers.
