The connections are established and requirements have been met. At Global Security Asia 2009, which took place from March 17 to March 19 in Singapore, the third edition of the international conference and exhibition for homeland security in the Asian-Pacific region, Kärcher Futuretech sales manager Dirk Waldow radiated pure optimism due to positive signals that he received from his local sales partners: Zenith Engineering, a specialist in NBC protection systems and mobile water purification, and ELS Defence Equipment, a company focusing on field camp components, presented new concepts.
Products from Kärcher Futuretech such as the field laundry (TFL), sanitary trailer (TRST) and a specially configured modular field kitchen (MFK) had already been introduced in the Singapore armed forces (SAF) five years ago, and there are plans to procure new systems in the near future.
The delegation of Colonel Daniel Chua, in charge of the logistics department of the armed forces, showed strong interest in the Kärcher Futuretech systems presented at the GSA 2009. Colonel Heok Chye Lee, commander of the CBRN Defense Group in the Singapore army, took note of a new generation of decontamination vehicles. Visitors at ministerial level proved that homeland defence was of particular importance for the city state of Singapore.
Wong Kan Seng, Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Homeland Security, as well as Minister of State Ho Peng Kee, showed their interest in the extensive activities of Kärcher Futuretech in this area.
Managing director Helmut Stelzmüller did not miss the opportunity to point out new approaches in civil defence and disaster control.
"We have been a reliable partner in the area of civil defence for many years. There is a good potential to extend our activities in the island state in the south of the Malayan peninsula", said Kärcher Futuretech sales manager Dirk Waldow in his summary. He also underlined the importance of the continued cooperation with his strong partners Zenith Engineering and ELS Defence Equipment.
