South Africa and Gambia: Things are Moving on the Black Continent

01 October 2008

At the Africa Aerospace and Defence in Cape Town, the largest defence exhibition in the African continent, KÄRCHER Futuretech celebrated its premiere among more than 200 exhibitors. The team of sales manager, Abdelhamid Jaouid, presented products, which are adapted to the special requirements of this growing market, to a large number of visitors from the defence industry and civil protection.

A round African cooking module, perfectly suitable for preparing the East African “Nsima” mush speciality, a kind of porridge made with white cornmeal, or the West African “Fufu”, a porridge made with mashed tubers, is one of the numerous innovations, which takes the eating habits of different tribes into consideration. Another highlight of the KÄRCHER Futuretech “World of Color” consisted of solutions in the area of mobile water purification.

At this exhibition, the focus was on the mobile waterclean WTC 500 RO purification system, which is able to produce up to 10,000l of palatable drinking water per day. KÄRCHER Futuretech product manager, Dr. Patrick Marcus, was there to provide information about the latest innovations, such as the water bottling plant 700 and the water packaging system 1600. Textile protective clothing and devices for the decontamination of wounded persons completed the equipment on show at the southernmost tip of Africa.

“The exhibition was a success for KÄRCHER Futuretech,” said Abdelhamid Jaouid, sales manager. “This was made evident by the fact that an increasing number of African delegations are showing enthusiasm for our products. The African market has a big growth potential that we intend our business to share in over the coming years,” he concluded.

After the exhibition, the professional sales manager in charge of Africa continued his trip to Banjul, the capital of Gambia. Following an invitation from the President of Gambia, Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh, Abdelhamid Jaouid presented KÄRCHER and its worldwide activities in the “state house”, putting special emphasis on systems needed for peace-keeping measures. The KÄRCHER representative did not leave the smallest mainland state in Africa before handing over a battery-operated high-pressure cleaner (hybrid cleaner K HC 10) to the West African president.
