MILITARY SHELTERSGEL supplies a range of standard and custom-built military shelters for communications, radar management, training and other associated operations. These military shelters are supplied to the MOD and electronics industry for service in all three armed forces, for the UK and overseas. The military shelters can be supplied in a range of standard sizes or custom built to any size and shape. With 60 years' experience in the production of military shelters, GEL designs and manufactures in accordance with ISO9001:2000, to which standard we are accredited, and offer extensive CAD facilities, using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, backed up by a dedicated and experienced technical support team and manufacturing staff. Military shelters can be single stand-alone units or complexes, standard ISO or custom built, RFI / EMC / EMP / TEMPEST / NBC protected with full systems installation. Armoured military shelters are also available. GEL military shelters are in operation throughout the world in extremes of climate and geographical locations, including Africa, Middle East, South Atlantic, North and South America, Far East, Artic Circle and Antarctica, as well as the UK and Europe. EXPANDABLE CONTAINERSGEL has a history of manufacturing expandable containers that can be traced back to the early post war years when oil exploration was being carried out all over the Middle East, and later in Africa. Today GEL offers a range of 'Expander' expandable containers whose features include lightweight construction, with one or both sides expanding. GEL 'Expander' expandable containers are expandable in five minutes, with an unlimited number of operations, and can be used either on the ground or on a truck. The extensions are fully self-supporting without legs. They retract to standard ISO container size and are CSC certificated; they are also available in non-standard sizes. Operational uses include:
MILITARY AND CIVILIAN NBC SHELTERSOur 'Citadel' NBC shelters are specifically designed to provide Collective Protection (COLPRO) against NBC attack. These are available as military NBC shelters (see above) or civilian NCB shelters (personnel refuges), either free-standing outdoors or as part of a building. They can also be armoured. Fresh air is provided via NBC filtration, together with air conditioning, self-contained power supply, furniture and equipment as required. TRAINING SIMULATIONSA specialisation of GEL Containers Division is the design and manufacture of custom-built training simulations such as aircraft fuselages, cockpits, ship bridges, train cabs, armoured vehicles, etc. GEL training simulations can replicate the necessary equipment and controls to provide the desired level of authenticity. The fidelity of the training simulations can be adjusted to suit the training needs, from simple space models to fully operational replicas. Examples of GEL training simulations include complete mock-ups of ships' bridges, weaponry control rooms, air traffic control centres, armoured fighting vehicles, evacuation trainers, rear fuselage crew trainers, refuelling trainers, ditching trainers, cockpit pressurisation trainers, etc. SPECIAL PURPOSE VEHICLESA wide range of special purpose vehicles is available, drawing from over 50 years of experience.
