AAR has been selected to provide the United States Air Force (USAF) with palletised seating systems to accommodate passenger carriage in KC-46 aircrafts in ten or 12 seat configurations. The contract with AAR’s Mobility Systems is valued at just under $5m, with ordering periods through the end of DoD’s FY19.

This contract supports the USAF’s newest air refuelling tanker aircraft, the KC-46 Pegasus. The wide-body, multi-role tanker can refuel all US, allied and coalition military aircraft compatible with international aerial refuelling procedures. For the first delivery, multiple sets of 12-passenger and ten-passenger seat pallets, valued at approximately $2m, have been ordered by the USAF to support the Initial Test and Evaluation of the KC-46 Tanker Programme.

"In addition to the KC-46 Seat Pallet contract, AAR is supplying the USAF with 463L Air Cargo Pallets and AAR ISU® Containers to support initial testing of this aircraft," said J. Jason Raffaele, AAR Mobility Systems Vice President of Business Development and Chief Engineer.

"AAR is proud to provide this variety of air mobile platforms to help our troops mobilise themselves and their critical mission equipment."
