DCM Hyundai Limited (DCMHL) is a designer and manufacturer of high-end containers for the world's military and peacekeeping forces. The product range covers expandable mobile shelters, equipment housing containers, radio relay containers, insulated containers and hood on type containers apart from standard ISO containers.

EXPANDABLE MOBILE SHELTERS

DCMHL provides high-quality tough expandable mobile shelters made of standard containers. The expandable mobile shelters can be expanded at site to have more working space. The expandable mobile shelters are ideally suited for operation theatres, patient wards and rest houses for the military and peacekeeping forces. Single expansion as well double expansion versions are available.

EQUIPMENT (GENET, COMPRESSOR, BOILER) HOUSING CONTAINERS

DCMHL equipment containers are suitable for heavy-duty usage purposes, with their ease of relocating and flexible design features. Our special equipment containers are tailor-made to house special equipment such as power generating sets, compressors, boilers, power packs, transformers, control panels, etc. The special equipment containers have a static load of 15t and dynamic load of 30t. These special equipment containers are insulated for protection against sound, heat, etc.

RADIO RELAY CONTAINERS

The company is already in the process of supplying radio relay containers in the 2.5t and 5t / 7.5t range to the Indian Army. The radio relay containers are used to house communication equipment and provide facilities for operation of radio (medium / low power) detachment. Our radio relay containers are equipped with AC, NBC filters, in-built generator and are totally EMI / EMC proof as per MIL standard.

INSULATED CONTAINERS

The insulated containers are used as bunkhouses, rest rooms, kitchen, dining, utility storages, etc. The inside temperature of the insulated containers can be maintained at 20°C to 25°C. The insulated containers are ideally suited for site offices and have been developed and supplied to large petroleum corporations in India and the Middle East.

CUSTOM ENGINEERED CONTRACT

DCMHL also undertakes custom engineered contracts that include design and fabrication of:

• FSmall containers of length 5ft to 10ft for use by naval forces to move various items from shore to offshore through helicopters / ferry
• Pallets of 1.5t to 8t payload capacity to facilitate easy handling of small components and staking
• Baskets for carrying liquid items and small carton boxes to various places
• Other complicated engineering fabrications to suit the customer needs

BRIDGES - BAILY TYPE AND RETRACTABLE TYPE

The company specialises in design and manufacture of Bridge Launching Tanks (BLT). The company can also manufactures baily type bridges and retractable type bridges. The baily type bridges and retractable type bridges are used in emergency crossover of rivers, flooded areas, deep trenches, etc. The baily type bridges and retractable type bridges can be assembled and retracted within short span of time.

HOOD-ON TYPE CONTAINERS

DCMHL's hood-on type containers are special category containers for transporting naval engines, aircraft engines, special power packs, etc from naval dockyards, aircraft hangers and maintenance departments.

ISO DRY FREIGHT CONTAINERS

DCMHL's manufacturing unit has an installed capacity to manufacture 18,000TEUs per annum of 20ft, 40ft and 45ft HC containers and fabrication of 15,000t per year of high quality alloy steel as per customer specifications. Our manufacturing unit is equipped with the most modern, state-of-the-art facilities for manufacture of ISO dry freight containers for the international market.

Our container products are manufactured for carrying dry cargo by land and sea. All materials used in the construction are suitable for extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C (-40°F) to +80°C (+176°F) without affecting the strength of the basic structure or its weather tightness. Each container and every constructional part is designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with classification societies.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

DCM Hyundai Limited, an 100% export oriented unit, is a joint venture company promoted by DCM Shriram Industries Limited (DSIL) and Hyundai Group of Korea, for the manufacture of marine freight containers in 1995. DSIL is one of the oldest Industrial houses of India.

The plant is located over an area of 23,000m² about 50km west of Chennai port. It is a strategic location catering to container deficit ports serving export oriented industries and trade from South India.
