DSEi 2007

DSEi 2007 - Defence Systems and Equipment International (DSEi) 2007

DSEi meets the needs of the international defence industry by providing face-to-face networking opportunities to share ideas, discuss industry developments, conduct business and network for future growth. It is the world's largest fully-integrated defence exhibition, bringing together senior international visitors and military influencers in an optimal business environment.

DSEi 2007, which will be held between the 11th and the 14th of September 2007, will be the biggest show to date, and boasts more networking opportunities across the supply chain than ever before; the show is already expected to be 25% bigger than in 2005.

Run by Reed Exhibitions Aerospace & Defence Group, which also organizes IDEX, ITEC, Helitech, LAAD and Asian Aerospace, DSEi takes place at the ExCeL centre in London. Its harbour location enables warships to be part of the showcase, while a huge diversity of land, sea and air defence products, technologies and services is on display in the exhibition halls.

In 2005 eight warships from six countries participated in the show, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to see onboard systems and technologies in action. Invitations have already been extended to a range of international navies to invite them to send warships to participate in DSEi 2007.

INTERNATIONAL DELEGATIONS AND HIGH RANKING VISITORS

DSEi works closely with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to attract and organise top-quality foreign delegations and high-ranking senior visitors, offering a bidding system to ensure unbiased stand visits. Over the four days of the 2005 show 25,000 international visitors attended, and 85% of them rated DSEi useful for networking and attracting new business contacts.

A major strength of DSEi is not just the quantity of visitors but also the quality. Senior procurement decision makers from the UK MoD and international equivalents, including all levels of trade professionals concerned with the defence sector, meet to do business.

86 delegations from 52 countries attended DSEi 2005, ensuring that the calibre of attendees viewing the exhibits and attending the conferences was second to none. Emphasising DSEi's status as the world’s largest tri-service defence show, delegations were split evenly across land, sea and air.

RANGE OF MILITARY EXHIBITORS

There were 1,200 exhibiting companies from 36 countries at the last DSEi, covering everything from international primes and second tier suppliers, to systems integrators and service providers. Some exhibitors were part of the 21 national pavilions that had been organised.

There was also a significant number of SMEs exhibiting for the first time, and 2007 will again see a dedicated 'first time exhibitors' area to support the vital role of SMEs in the defence and aerospace supply chain. This will be complemented by a series of supply chain workshops, aimed at second tier suppliers, subcontractors and companies new to the market.

For 2007, exciting new feature areas and static displays are planned along with the addition of new national pavilions and group stands for UK and international associations. The growth of aerospace and security systems will continue so that DSEi becomes a fully integrated event.

Engineering and information technology will also be growth areas, and the latest MoD programmes will be given special attention so that the key decision makers can view the latest and future technology, which can potentially be put to use by the armed forces in years to come.
