Founded in Philadelphia in 1946, PEI-Genesis first established a presence in Europe in 1998 and, since mid-2004, has been offering its industry-leading 48-hour assembly service on a truly comprehensive range of interconnection products from the company's European headquarters in Southampton. Sourcing the correct electronic connector for a particular application can be a challenging process, but if the part is required in a hurry, the task can seem almost impossible. PEI Genesis can provide interconnection products designed for and released to military specifications from Amphenol, ITT Cannon, Polamco,Chinch and many more. Automated connector assemblyPEI-Genesis achieves its high service levels by carrying large stocks of piece-parts and using in-house developed machines to automate the connector assembly process. Between them, the company's two assembly facilities, at Southampton UK and South Bend, Indiana, US, hold a $50million inventory of piece-parts, which can be assembled into a wide range of finished and tested connector products. All assembly work is carried out under the company's ISO 9001:2000 quality system, and released to many military specifications , such as MIL-DTL-38999, 5015, 26482, JN1003 and more. These developments mean that engineers and buyers in the military sector can now obtain the exact connector for their requirement in the shortest possible timescales. What's more, this exceptional service comes without the burden of minimum order quantities, as PEI-Genesis will happily assemble just one connector if that is all the customer needs. In fact, most of the 6 million connectors and 50,000 part numbers the company assembles each year are for order quantities of less than ten. MilSpec connectors engineeringA full product and engineering team are available to help with specifying the correct products, tooling and assembly procedures for the application, both in the UK and the USA. Miniature bayonet-lock connectorsPEI-Genesis, the franchised assembler and distributor of electronic connectors, has added Amphenol’s 62GB series of miniature bayonet-lock connectors to its stock profile and is now offering them with the company’s standard 48-hour assembly service. Designed to provide a robust, high-density interface, the connectors are ideal for use on military communications equipment and for applications in demanding industrial environments. ARINC connectorsExtensively used in commercial and military avionics systems, ARINC 600 connectors provide a high-density, high-reliability interface between the airframe and equipment packages for applications such as traffic collision avoidance systems, engine indicator crew alert systems and airborne information management systems. Suitable for industrial and military harsh-environment applications, these RoHS-compliant connectors are available with either black silver or electroless nickel plating and can be specified with up to seven 22 AWG gold-plated, turned contacts. Milspec connectorsSuitable for use in a diverse range of defence and aerospace applications, Amphenol’s MIL-DTL-38999 connectors cover a broad spectrum of styles, sizes and platforms. The Series I and II connectors (LJT and JT respectively) feature aluminium shells, while the Series III connectors (TV) can be specified with aluminium, stainless-steel or composite shells. Available plating finishes include cadmium olive drab, nickel and zinc cobalt. Two and four-hole connectorsFeaturing silent push-to-mate and pull-to-release operation, the SCE series includes in-line and chassis-mount plugs, together with in-line receptacles in snatch or latch styles and chassis-mount receptacles in jam-nut, 2-hole or 4-hole styles. Quick bayonet-lock connectorsFeaturing a 100% scoop-proof design, the JN1003 connectors use a quick-disconnect bayonet-lock coupling with rear-release removable crimp contacts. Shells are made from lightweight aluminium alloy, plated with olive drab cadmium over nickel, and the connectors have an operating temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. Connectors for ground-based military communicationsOriginally designed and manufactured by TEC Electrical Components before it was acquired by ITT Industries, the VEAM PT connectors are widely used in fighting vehicles and ground-based military communications equipment such as the MoD’s Clansman and Bowman radio systems. Designed in accordance with the VG95234 specification, the connectors use the dimensions and contact arrangements laid down in MIL-C-5015, but instead of being threaded they are provided with a reverse bayonet coupling mechanism, which offers exceptional vibration-protected sealing against fluids, as well as easy connection/disconnection. European coverAs well as the UK and USA facilities , PEI Genesis have sales offices in the Nordic region (Denmark), Germany, Turkey and will soon open an office in France.
