HUBER+SUHNER, a leading international manufacturer of components and systems for electrical and optical connectivity, is set to showcase its innovative solutions for the defense market at DSEI 2015 in London, 15-18 September.

Uniting its technical expertise in radio frequency, fibre optics and low-frequency technology under one roof at the London show, the company will demonstrate its leading solutions for the defence industry, as it unveils its new RF-over-Fibre series.

The company will also show a range of key solutions for the defence industry, including its innovative antennas and connectors for harsh environments.

HUBER+SUHNER’s new RF-over-Fibre series combines two core technologies in a single solution, providing future-proofing for networks based on RF as they transition to fibre or hybrid RF and fibre architectures.

HUBER+SUHNER market manager for aerospace and defense Patric Keller said: "The market is evolving at a significant pace and customers are constantly looking for the latest technology.

"Customers are no longer looking for separate solutions but now require systems that combine a variety of technologies in one infrastructure. HUBER+SUHNER’s RF-over-Fibre series allows customers to future-proof their communications towards fibre networks without making any changes to their existing RF infrastructure. We are excited to showcase these at this year’s DSEI event."

HUBER+SUHNER will be showcasing three different elements of its RF-over-Fibre solutions at the London event next month, including:

  • RF-over-Fibre
  • GPS-over-Fibre
  • LAN-over-Fibre technologies

RF-over-Fibre
The RF-over-Fibre module converts analogue RF signals into fibre signals and vice versa. With a wide-frequency range and excellent stability, frequency jitter and phase noise performance, the company’s latest solution is rapidly becoming a key part for command and control, naval and airborne applications.

GPS-over-Fibre
The GPS-over-Fibre connector offers a very high-stability in addition to excellent performance in phase noise and frequency jitter in applications such as remote antenna connection in GPS systems.

LAN-over-Fibre
The LAN-over-Fibre module supports the IEEE802.3 standard 1000 Base-SX fibre. It enables copper connections to interface with fibre connections over a distance up to 500m. It does so by converting copper media into fibre media and vice versa.

Antennas and connectors for harsh environments
An essential part of today’s sophisticated tactical communication and electronic countermeasure (ECM) applications, HUBER+SUHNER’s wideband vehicle antennas will also be on show. With its extremely robust design, compact slim shape and minimum installation effort, HUBER+SUHNER’s vehicle antennas are designed to provide maximum performance and durability.

The company will also showcase its solutions for interconnection in harsh environments with its QMA-XQMA and its QN-XQN connectors. Designed and manufactured to meet the stringent needs of defence systems, HUBER+SUHNER’s new ruggedised connectors are protected from even the most adverse atmospheres.

HUBER+SUHNER is a global leader in the development and production of high-quality cables and cable systems that provide outstanding reliability in the face of extreme environmental influences and harsh general conditions. With an extensive radio frequency, fibre optics and low-frequency portfolio that has already made significant contributions across a range of industries, HUBER+SUHNER is well-placed to demonstrate its expertise at this month’s DSEI event.

Visitors to DSEI 2015 can discover more about HUBER+SUHNER’s new range of innovative solutions for the defence market in London from 15-18 September, at booth S8-171.
