HD video surveillance systems

CWC Embedded Computing is a leader in rugged, high-definition (HD) intelligent video surveillance systems for ground and air vehicles. Our Skyquest AVDU-5000 is a rugged 20in display that supports the latest generation of HD camera systems. The AVDU-5000 20" offers true HD compatibility and stunning image quality. It enables users to switch between full-screen HD and split-screen HD and moving map or a number of other split screen and picture-in-picture modes. It offers multiple video inputs, VGA (computer) inputs and a number of soft-keys that offer the option of controlling other video such as video recorders. Standard options include Skyquest image enhancement, touch screen interface and NVG filtering.

Airborne sensor management

Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronic Systems delivers vetronics systems tailored to meet customers' vehicle platform requirements and reduce size, weight and power (SWaP). Our vetronics solutions are based on a vast portfolio of rugged deployed chassis and electronic systems development expertise. Our high performance, net-centric air-cooled rugged sensor management unit (SMU) is packaged with multi-node processing units to perform data fusion functions by gathering, managing, storing, and re-transmitting critical data to ground stations quickly and reliably with legacy and technologically advanced high-speed, high bandwidth sensor/payload interfaces. The SMU facilitates data management from all airborne payload configurations.

Specialized sensors and controllers

Our integrated sensing business group’s CWC Avionics & Aerospace division is a global leader in the design and manufacture of specialist position sensors, solenoids and control hardware for use in military ground and air platforms. Our enhanced software configurable air data unit (ESCADU) is a highly configurable, highly reliable subsystem that provides key air data parameters such as altitude, airspeed, height deviation and temperature to rotary and fixed wing aircraft systems. The lightweight ESCADU, weighing less than 1.3kg (2.9lb), delivers accurate flight detail information collected from the pitot and static pressure sensors and an outside air temperature probe to the aircraft’s systems via ARINC 429, analog dc or discrete signals.

Rotor protection systems

CWC Integrated Sensing’s Avionics & Electronics group is a market leader in the design and manufacture of rugged aircraft smoke detectors, and ice eradication systems for rotor-wing aircraft blades and windshields. CWC’s Rotor Ice Protection System (RIPS) provides de-icing functions for the main rotor and tail rotor of the helicopter. The RIPS has been designed as a fully automatic system, providing blade de-icing based on outside air temperature (OAT) and liquid water content (LWC), which can also be used as a manual system operated by flight crew commands.

Smart controllers

CWC Drive Technology is a leading supplier of hydro-pneumatic, electro-hydraulic and electromechanical systems for military applications. Our Smart Controller 2000 is a compact, rugged motion controller for multi-axes systems. Designed for installation into standard 19in (3HE) racks, this cost-effective modular controller enables independent card modules to be linked together for flexible expansion. Our proprietary Windows-based software smart-view tool simplifies configuration/management. Smart Controller 2000 is ideal for ammunition handling systems, light turret drives and many actuator applications.
