Custom military connector shells

Conesys can trace its roots to the CNC metal machining business, and that is still where Conesys outshines everyone else in the industry. Operating a 120,000 square foot machining center of excellence at its Torrance, California campus, Conesys has the current capacity to produce 1 million connector shells per month – and they have the floor space and financial strength to increase that capacity as demand dictates. With in-house design and programming, Conesys can meet your special connector shell requirements, including:

  • Special flange and mounting configurations
  • Special coupling styles
  • Specialty metals and platings
  • Integrated over-mold rear accessories (no need for a separate backshell)
  • Extended or reduced overall length

Custom inserts and contacts for military connectors

With the advantage of design, tool making, machining, plating, plastic molding, rubber molding, assembly and full test facilities at its Torrance campus, Conesys has designed, built, tested and delivered on time many different connectors with special inserts and contacts. These include connectors with:

  • Special insert arrangements
  • Power contacts (size 8) and arrangements for MIL-DTL-38999 style connectors
  • PC-tail contacts to customer length and diameter requirements
  • Compliant pin contacts (press-fit)
  • High data rate contacts, including Quadrax
  • Mil-qualified M29504/4 and /5 fiber-optic termini

EMI and transient voltage suppression connectors

EMP Connectors division of Conesys has provided advanced transient suppression and EMI filter connectors for both military and commercial applications since 1987. They specialize in custom-built, high-powered designs within compact connector envelopes to fit your customer power handling, clamping voltage and package requirements, often at a significant cost savings over the typical board mounted configurations. Specializing in the science of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), EMP Connectors is in the unique position of being able to supply both EMI filtering and EMP transient surge protection in the same compact connector package. By incorporating both types of protection into this single device, they have developed a proven space and cost saving solution over traditional protection methods.
