Ultralife Batteries has received an order worth approximately US$62 million from a US defense contractor to supply advanced communications systems. Deliveries are expected to occur during 2008 with delivery schedules to be agreed upon between Ultralife and the customer during the year. For customer confidentiality reasons, Ultralife is not able to disclose either the customer's name or details about this order.

"Over the past year we have been working on adding more value in our communications accessories business by expanding our product portfolio to include advanced integrated communications systems, and we are pleased by the acceptance these systems are gaining in the marketplace. They also demonstrate our success in deepening our presence with prime defense contractors and offer proof of the strong working relationships we have established with them," said John D. Kavazanjian, Ultralife's president and chief executive officer.

"Our leadership position in the development and supply of both power and communications systems for critical defense applications gives us a solid foundation to continue growing our systems business through prime defense contractors." Kavazanjian concluded.
