Ultralife Batteries, Inc. has received a contract valued at approximately US$2 million to supply BA-5590 lithium-sulfur dioxide batteries to the Australian Department of Defence. Ultralife will provide batteries manufactured by EaglePicher Technologies, LLC through a supply agreement. Deliveries are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter.

"This is the second time this year we have been able to offer BA-5590 batteries as an alternative to our industry-leading BA-5390 lithium-manganese dioxide batteries," said John D Kavazanjian, Ultralife's president and chief executive officer. "In cooperation with EaglePicher we have been able to both provide customers with products they request and further strengthen our international presence."
