Our power systems are qualified to MIL-STD-461 (EMI), MIL-STD-810 (environmental), MIL-HDBK-217 (reliability) and meet the applicable standard for overall electrical performance of the system whether it be in the air, on the sea, or on the ground.

In addition, DEF-STAN and STANAG performance requirements are routinely met for UK and European military needs. Other qualifications include MUNSON Road, Rail Impact and RTCA/DO160C (airborne) environmental ruggedness.

HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE POWER SYSTEMS

TDI is a key supplier on the US Army's Future Tactical Truck System (FTTS). Our unique electrical solutions provide motor starting power (DC voltage) as well as large amounts of off-vehicle power (AC voltage to 60kVA) from onboard batteries. The systems are liquid-cooled using the vehicle's water/glycol coolant at 80°C or fan-cooled utilizing TDI's unique 'wind tunnel' approach that keeps airflow with potential contaminants away from direct contact with sensitive electrical components.

Li-ION UPS SYSTEMS

Awarded 'Best Technology' by Electronic Design Magazine, our robust MIL-UPS systems support mission-critical systems. Standard and customized UPS systems deliver seamless AC back up. These true on-line designs use a double conversion topology with power factor correction. By using state of the art Li-Ion batteries we have been able to substantially reduce weight and increase run time.

INVERTERS

TDI's DC-AC inverters deliver the 'Sine of Perfection'. Using high frequency pulse width modulation, these inverters 'synthesize' a sinusoidal output with less than 1% THD. Compatible with MIL-STD-1275 vehicle power and MIL-STD-704 aircraft power, ACE series inverters from 1KVA through 15KVA can be ordered with 50Hz, 60Hz or 400Hz output.

VME AND CPCI POWER SUPPLIES

Through the use of synchronous rectification, TDI is able to achieve outstanding efficiencies of nearly 90% on our fully conduction cooled card power supplies. Designed for standard ATR enclosures, the supplies meet all MIL-STDS for EMI, shock / vibe, and reliability in an industry standard 6U or 3U package.

BATTERY CHARGERS

The BCE series power supply battery charger is a fully qualified robust converter available in 1KW, 3KW and 6KW power ranges with power factor correction and rugged modular construction. More than 7,000 BCE units are in mobile military field service today. Battery charger features include a temperature compensated DC output and a pre-programmed EQUALIZE cycle for battery conditioning.

CUSTOM POWER SUPPLY

Includes AC and DC converters capable of meeting the requirements of nearly any severe environment. Our expertise ranges from low power ultra low noise converters to medium range (1KW – 8KW) power supplies designed for mobile applications to scalable high power systems producing 100KW or more. Redundant N+1, battery backed systems provide zero down-time solutions to critical power needs.
