Two key components of the R4i CSDB server system are the R4i Viewer, R4i Binder and R4i Binder with change packaging.

A royalty-free application for R4i common source database server customers, the R4i Viewer is an intelligent content access tool for operators and maintainers. Data packages are generated from R4i common source database server which are in turn "read" by the R4i Viewer. Designed for use in the defence and heavy industry sectors, the R4i Viewer includes content encryption, password security, applicability (filter data by asset configuration), online/offline operation and content expiry.

Bind a book using ADG's R4i Binder software with a drag-and-drop interface from the R4i's S1000D common source database, allowing you to select the SGML or XML topics that you want included in a book with front matter items, such as title page, table of contents, list of figures, list of tables and list of effective pages.

Military information authoring and collaboration tool

Organisations that create operational and maintenance information utilise technical authors to create content. Current authoring tools are expensive and very complex to use. Workbench is a browser based, forms driven authoring and collaboration tool for non technical authors. Workbench is integrated with R4i common source database Server, Command View and Skills Studio; enabling engineers and subject matter experts to "reach" into these systems and reuse existing content. This approach dramatically reduces content creation time and allows faster client deliveries.

TLS disciplines and software for business-critical assets

Assets that have a long life cycle, such as military aircraft and ships utilise through life support (TLS) disciplines and software to manage the maintenance logistics. Command View provides "One Commanding View" of business-critical assets.

Command View software modules include:

• Resource management (maintainers and operators)
• Reporting and forecasting
• Job tasking and monitoring

ADG’s Command View system provides these modules while reducing information replication by linking to R4i common source database server for technical data and Skills M5 to provide training data to operators and maintainers.

SCORM compliant ntegrated competency-based training

ADG recently identified the requirement for an integrated competency-based training (CBT) system that would:

• Enable training developers to reuse existing maintenance and procedural data
• Enable high-speed content creation via an easy to use forms based authoring tool.
• Provide a student e-Learning portal
• Include a portal for instructors to manage students

The resulting software product, Skills M5 can work in unison with the R4i common source database server or as a stand-alone system to provide a complete competency based e-learning system for operators and maintainers. Skills M5 comprises a courseware authoring application (Skills Studio), a browser based instructor and student e-Learning portal (Skills M5) and a Skills Studio Management web application.
